The 2017 – 2018 school year marks the 15th anniversary of The Girls’ School of Austin. In honor of the occasion, GSA held a birthday celebration on the first day of school. Students posed for photos with a giant ’15’ made from green and purple balloons in GSA’s field and then congregated in the courtyard to sing “Happy Birthday” to the school. Head of School, Lisa Schmitt, lead the singing and third-grade student, Lenox, blew out the candle. Each student received a cupcake to enjoy before heading to their first class of the year. It was a splendid way to start the school year and celebrate 15 years as Austin’s only independent girls’ school for grades K-8.
