Lisa Schmitt with the 8th-grade class at the 2019 Gala
The Girls School of Austin celebrated it’s long-time, retiring Head of School, Lisa Schmitt at The Growing Up GSA Gala on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, gala program and after party at the Hotel Van Zandt in downtown Austin.
During a three-course dinner, a live auction was held with popular packages including vacations, dinners, a class sleepover, and naming rights to the GSA driveway. The program also included student readings, a farewell presentation for this year’s graduating class, and a standing ovation for Ms. Schmitt following a tribute video in her honor.
Parents, community members, and faculty enjoyed this send-off celebration and raised $250,000 for the school.
