Teacher Open House

With Ms. Jesse Bohnert stepping into her new role as Lower School Science Teacher next year, we are officially hiring a Second Grade Teacher!

Our staff have been hard at work attending career fairs in the Austin area, including those at The University of Texas and Huston-Tillotson University. We are incredibly excited to meet potential candidates for this position, and we'd like to invite our community to share this opportunity with anyone they believe would be a good fit!

Do you know anyone looking to advance their career in girls' education? If so, please invite them to our Teacher Open House on Friday March 22nd from 8:00 - 9:30 AM. This is a great opportunity for candidates to tour our campus, ask questions about the position, and get to know our school as a whole.

We look forward to meeting with everyone and expanding our team for next school year!

Join Ms. Yacono for Coffee and Conversation

To continue fostering strong connections with our parent community, we're bringing back our popular Coffee and Conversations series starting in April. Come and join our Head of School Ms. Rebecca Yacono for a cup of coffee after Friday Community Meetings around 8:30 AM on the dates listed below. We hope to deepen our connections as a community and discuss all topics relative to GSA — and if you have any topic suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us!

We will also continue to host virtual, open-ended Coffee and Conversation sessions in the months ahead.

Firebird Futures: Cicily Hewlitt, Class of 2020

From the kindergarten classroom to the Eighth Grade graduation stage, The Girls’ School of Austin is known for cultivating lifelong passions within its students. For Cicily Hewlitt (Class of 2020), that passion began in the art studio.

“I definitely got my love for art from the GSA,” shared Cicily, now a senior at Stephen F. Austin High School. “I love that the GSA builds in a part of your day to be creative, and I still use the creativity I gained there today.”

We are proud to start showcasing more of our alumnae stories! To read more about Cicily and her life beyond GSA, click the link below.

Pick Up Items from Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found cabinet by the Science Room (119) has collected many of our students' items this semester! Kindly remind your student to check Lost and Found before all items are donated on Friday, March 8th. We would love to reunite our students with their belongings before they are sent off to find new homes!

Lucky 21, GSA's 2024 Spring Gala, is only 34 days away!

While we eagerly await for April 7th to arrive, get to know more about Fair Market, our beautiful venue located on East 5th Street. Our Gala Committee has been hard at work touring the venue, finalizing floor plans, and preparing decorations, and we are so excited for you to see the space come Gala time!
