Beyond the Fence - Community, on Display
Tuesday night at City Hall was nothing short of extraordinary!
The Council Chamber was packed with GSA—girls from every grade proudly in uniform, alongside faculty, staff, parents, alumni, parents of alumni, and Board members. We were truly a sight to behold. And people noticed.
Planning Commissioners commented on the strength, presence, and spirit of our community. It was clear: GSA showed up...and it mattered.
Our land use consultants, Ron Thrower and Victoria Haase, said this afterward:
“Please share with everyone who attended—parents, students, teachers, and faculty—just how deeply we appreciate the extraordinary level of turnout, commitment, and continuity we witnessed. It meant more to us than we can fully express. The collective presence and engagement reflected something rare; something far beyond what we typically encounter in our work. This cause, and the community behind it, stands apart from anything we’ve ever been part of. What you’ve all built is not only meaningful, it’s lasting.”
If you’d like to explore more, including letters of support and opposition, you can find everything here.
And if you missed the hearing (or want to relive it), we’ve got you covered:
Planning Commission Video Highlights

The unanimous vote is something to celebrate; and there’s more work ahead. As expected, an appeal has already been filed. Rebecca, the site development team, Thrower Designs, and the Board are actively working through next steps.
But for now, take this in.
GSA is soaring—and this moment belongs to all of you!
