See the Future...

What a night! The See the Future Gala brought together an incredible crowd of GSA families, friends, and supporters; and together, we raised a record-breaking $340,535 for our school.

The energy in the room was electric, and as always, the teacher-hosted class parties were the HIT of the night—sparking fierce (but friendly!) competition across the room. In one of the most "GSA moments" of the evening, one class even helped another raise their paddle to secure the surprise second sale of Retro Rollers and Rhythms. Community at its finest!

We were also thrilled to introduce the Phoenix Fund, which saw an astounding $118,000 raised in its very first year. Truly incredible generosity. If you weren’t able to attend, be sure to check out the video we shared that evening.

And of course…the after-party delivered. The dance floor was full, with some standout moves from our GSA dads and especially our 8th Graders, who brought the energy all night long.

Thank you to everyone who made this evening so special.

Save the Date: April 10, 2027
Yes—another Saturday night. We’re doing it again.

Creativity and Arts Around GSA

There are so many exciting ways to celebrate and support the arts in our GSA community! Look what's "on the horizon"...

Middle School Rock Choir Performance:
Join us for a fun and energetic performance from our Middle School Rock Choir, in partnership with Gavin Tabone and the Barton Hills Choir—a longtime Austin favorite (yes, ACL-level cool!).

Sunday, April 26 | 5:30–6:15 PM at GSA

All families are welcome, and it’s a great preview for any 4th Graders interested in joining choir next year. Bring your classic rock energy and come support our singers!

On Stage:
Several of our GSA students will be performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Adderley at the end of May. The production will take place at the Dell Performing Arts Center at St. Andrew’s. Come out and cheer them on!
Get tickets here.

A “Secret Mission” Call for Talent:
We’re on the lookout for a trumpet player who can confidently play Yellow Submarine. If this sounds like you (or your child!), please contact Ms. Yacono directly.

In the Art World:
Join us in celebrating GSA parent Laura Lit at the opening of her first solo museum exhibition: Impossible Beings, a series of newly commissioned sculptures, and enjoy refreshments and an ambient sound performance as the sun sets at Laguna Gloria—a beautiful blend of art, nature, and music.

Public Opening
April 23 | 7:00–8:30 PM
Laguna Gloria

So many ways to show up, get inspired, and support the arts—hope to see you out and about!

Beyond the Fence - Your Voice Matters

As we shared last week, we are heading into an important milestone for the CUP amendment process.

Planning Commission Hearing
Tuesday, April 28 | 6:00 PM | City Hall

We strongly encourage our GSA community to show up in person. We anticipate organized opposition, and a visible, supportive presence from our families will make a powerful difference.

In addition, we are asking families to submit letters of support. These letters are an important part of the process and help ensure that decision-makers hear directly from those who know and value GSA.

To make this easy, we’ve provided a template and step-by-step instructions.

How to Submit a Letter of Support:

  • Open the email template provided
    • You'll be asked to make a copy with a click of button
  • Add your own personal experience or reason for supporting GSA
  • Consider including:
    • How do you know about GSA?
    • What do you like most about GSA?
    • What does your student (current or past) like most about GSA?
  • Review your message so it reflects your voice
  • Click the "M" to left of the template to preview and create the email from your email address
  • Submit your letter to the Planning Commission by Friday, April 24, 2026
  • If you have any questions or issues with the template, please contact Robyn Burchfiel

This is a moment where our collective voice truly matters. Thank you for continuing to show up with clarity, care, and commitment to our school.
