Beyond the Fence: Gratitude and Next Steps
On Monday, February 23, GSA held a neighborhood meeting to share our site development plans. We are deeply grateful to the many GSA families who showed up. You represented our community with thoughtfulness, composure, and conviction. When questions arose, you helped clarify facts. When inaccuracies surfaced, you responded with steady confidence. Your presence reminded everyone that GSA is a vibrant, values-driven community of families who believe deeply in educating girls!
We recognize that there are differing perspectives within the neighborhood. As we move forward, we remain committed to respectful engagement, clear communication, and following every requirement outlined by the City. Transparency and integrity will continue to guide this process.
Following the meeting, members of our Site Development Committee including Board Chair Rachel Nguyen, Melinda Madurai, Robyn Burchfiel, and our land planning consultant Thrower Designs, met with District 10 Councilmember Duchen to share the same information and answer questions.
On Tuesday, February 24, we officially submitted our Conditional Use Permit (CUP) amendment application to the City of Austin. The application will now move through the City’s review process over the next 6–8 months.
Thank you for your continued encouragement and support as we move through this next phase together.
