Staffing Update: Advancement

One year ago, Robyn Burchfiel stepped into the Interim Director of Advancement role to help guide GSA through the end of last school year. Because of her deep commitment to the school and the extraordinary impact the GSA has had on her own daughter (GSA Class of 2022), Robyn agreed to remain in the role through the 2025–2026 school year.

To ensure a thoughtful and intentional transition, the GSA has now posted the Director of Advancement position with the goal of welcoming a new team member in early 2026. This timeline will allow for several months of overlap with Robyn and the Advancement team before she concludes her interim role at the end of the school year.

We invite the GSA community to share the job description with your friends and networks.

Lost and Found

As mentioned in Class Dojo this week, the GSA campus has been overtaken by rogue waterbottles, jackets, lunchboxes and even the random single shoe! Please remind your daughter(s) to check the Lost and Found rack before December 19th. After that date, any remaining items will go to the Uniform Closet or will be donated.

Cool Weather Reminder: Staying Warm and In Uniform

As temperatures drop, we want everyone staying warm while still following the GSA uniform policy. Here’s a quick refresher to keep mornings smooth and stress-free:

Bottoms:

Uniform-quality navy blue skirts, shorts, skorts, and long pants are all acceptable.

Sweatpants, joggers, athletic pants, athletic tights, or athletic shorts are only for PE—even if they’re navy blue. We’ve seen some navy joggers lately, and while comfy, they are NOT in dress code.

What does “uniform-quality” mean?
To help clear up confusion around materials and styles:

  • 100% cotton or cotton-blend fabric
  • Finished seams
  • Straight-leg or classic uniform pant styles

- No gathered or elastic cuffs at the bottom
- No drawstrings

- No sweatpant, jogger, or athletic-style materials

Layers on top:

Cardigans, hoodies, and sweatshirts do not need a GSA logo, but must be solid colored.

Small brand logos (about 2 inches or smaller) are okay—no words, large graphics, or patterns.

Leggings:

Can be worn under navy skirts/skorts/shorts like tights (any color or pattern is fine). Leggings cannot be worn alone as pants.

Thank you for helping us keep our uniforms consistent and our students warm!

Pajama Day - Friday, December 19

On Friday, December 19, GSA will be hosting Pajamas and Lemonade Day as we finish our last day of school before Winter Break! You student is welcome to wear their PJ's all day as we enjoy a day of learning and Sister Group time, complete with lemonade, cookies, and a movie! The girls should wear regular shoes (no slippers) and please do not send them with pillows or stuffed animals. Blankets that will fit into their backpacks are allowed. Lastly, please note that December 19 is a FULL school day.
