Honor Your Loved Ones at Our Ofrenda
In preparation for Día De Los Muertos this year, we are once again asking our GSA students and families to help us prepare our Ofrenda. Ofrendas, or offerings, date back to Mexico 2,500 - 3,000 years ago, and they are intended to honor our loved ones who have passed away with a collection of vibrant, colorful items displayed atop an altar.
For our altar this year, members of our GSA community are invited to contribute a photo of a loved one who has passed away. This can be a family member, friend, or pet. If you would like to honor a loved one who has passed away, please bring in a photocopy of your picture (with no frame) or email your picture to lherrera@thegirlsschool.org by October 20th. We encourage everyone to bring in a photocopy so you may preserve your family's original photographs.

Reminder about Aftercare
All families—new and returning—please review the following updates for the Aftercare sign-out procedure: -
ID required for pick-up: The person picking up a child may be asked to present an official photo ID to confirm their identity and verify they are on the approved pick-up list. While Ms. Chandler knows most families, not all aftercare staff do, so please be prepared to show your ID when asked.
-
Patience and cooperation: We kindly ask for your patience and respect if you are asked for ID. For the safety of all students, we strongly recommend keeping your ID with you at pick-up.
-
Pick-up changes: If there are any changes to your child’s aftercare pick-up arrangements, please remember to email attendance@thegirlsschool.org as early as possible.
Thank you for helping us keep our aftercare dismissal safe and smooth for everyone! |
