Reminder: Illness Policy
In the spirit of keeping the community healthy, please remind your daughters that they should not be sharing food, drinks, combs, etc.; and they should wash their hands with soap thoroughly and frequently. We've seen an uptick in COVID, the flu and we have had a couple of cases of mononucleosis in the school.
Additionally, as outlined in the Parent-Student Handbook, students who are ill may not remain at school. This includes having a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, lice, etc. Before returning to school, students must be: -
Fever-, vomiting-, and diarrhea-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing, anti-emetic, or anti-diarrheal medication.
- At least 24 hours into antibiotic treatment (if prescribed).
-
Cleared with a doctor’s note or proof of treatment in cases of highly contagious illness or respiratory symptoms.
Sending children to school while sick puts classmates, faculty, and families at risk. Thank you for adhering to this policy and helping us maintain a safe, healthy school environment.

A Message from the 8th Graders
"As many of you know, GSA’s Service Learning projects are beginning and the GSA is taking on many different projects. We, the 8th Grade, have decided to work with Saint Louise House. Saint Louise House is a shelter whose mission is to help women and children move from homelessness to healthy independent lives. 8th Grade’s job is to help furnish an entire apartment for a family overcoming homelessness.
We will be sending a wishlist of everything we need to furnish this apartment by September 12th. We also will be advertising around the community to spread the word. We will be starting a donation drive to collect all of these items. As a takeaway, in order to help this family overcome homelessness, we need you to help us get all of the items we need to furnish this apartment and to change someone's life." |
