2025 Firebird Fund Campaign Has Launched
The 2025 Firebird Fund has officially kicked off! Check your inbox for the announcement. If you didn’t receive it, please let the Advancement Office know.
At the Girls’ School of Austin, our girls experience a rich liberal arts education, hands-on service learning, and meaningful social–emotional growth. The Firebird Fund helps us say “Yes!” to special opportunities that elevate that experience—field trips, professional development for our teachers, unique service projects, esteemed guest speakers, and more.
This year our goal is to raise $255,000 and reach 100% parent participation by November 21!
Each class that reaches 100% participation earns a $50 micro-grant for a service project or cause the girls choose.
How to participate:
-
Give online: Make a one-time gift or set up a monthly donation—whatever works best for your family.
-
Donate Stock: Donating stock or other appreciated assets can be one of the most tax-savvy ways to support GSA. When you donate stock you...
1. Avoid Capital Gains Taxes
When you give stock that has increased in value, you don’t pay capital gains tax on the appreciation. That means more of your gift goes directly to the school.
2. Receive a Charitable Deduction
You can claim a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the asset (up to IRS limits), lowering your taxable income.
3. Make a Bigger Impact
By giving appreciated assets instead of cash, you may be able to increase your gift without increasing your out-of-pocket cost.
Transferring stock is straightforward, and gifts of other appreciated assets like mutual funds or IRA distributions are also possible.

The GSA has a longstanding practice of 100% Board giving, 100% parent participation consistently, and exceptional faculty support each year. Your gift—at any level—helps us say “Yes!” to what’s next for the GSA.
