New Year Notables

It’s great to have the girls back on campus and we are excited about what 2025 holds for the entire community! A few things to keep in mind as you drop your daughter(s) off each day:

Drop-off/Pick-up: Please review and follow the car line procedure. It’s for your child’s safety!
Dress Code: Make sure your daughter is wearing the required uniform. We have noticed girls arriving in various states of dress code non-compliance.
- Boots are Cute–but not for PE. Make sure your child has appropriate shoes for PE.
Lunch and Snacks: If your child forgets her lunch, she will call you and ask to bring one to her. If she forgets a snack, we will provide a simple snack to tie her over. Also, make sure your child brings the appropriate utensils for her lunch. We are committed to remaining environmentally conscious and we want to avoid the use of plastic utensils.

Calling For Gala Auction Items!

GSA's Spring Gala is coming up on Sunday, April 6th at the Mansion in downtown Austin! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. And with this exciting event quickly approaching, we are putting out the call to the GSA community for auction items!

Can you offer a unique experience that can't be found anywhere else? Do you have a skill you can teach or work for/own a company that can offer unique experience?

Do you have access to a vacation home for a trip package?

Did you receive a gift card or gift for the holidays that you want to pass along?

All of these AND MORE make fantastic auction items for our Spring Gala!

If you’re on the fence, Kim can let you know if your idea is a good fit for a donation.

Re-Enrollment Coming Soon!

Can you believe that re-enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is right around the corner? Re-enrollment will begin on February 3th and the deadline for all contracts will be Feb 28th.

This year, all re-enrollment contracts and fees will be submitted through Blackbaud, the same system you used to access your child’s report card. If you are considering other academic options for the 2025-2026 school year, please reach out to Neely Michaelis at nmichaelis@thegirlsschool.org.

Afterschool Programs

Afterschool programs start Monday, January 13th!

Registration will remain open through the following Friday, January 17th, after which no refunds or registrations will be permitted.
To Register, use your Popsicle account.
If you have not created an account select "Sign Up" via the link above.
If a class does not “make” because of low enrollment, we will let you know and initiate a refund as soon as possible.

We Say Farewell to Amy Heaton

After 5 wonderful years, our esteemed Middle School math teacher, Amy Heaton, will be moving back to the DC area at the end of the school year to be closer to her family. In addition to enriching the Middle School math program, Amy taught the SET (science, engineering, and technology) elective in her early years at the GSA. In Amy’s own words, “I have loved my time at the GSA and I am confident the Middle School math program is in excellent hands. I will miss the GSA community tremendously.”
