Service Learning Drive

The GSA works with some amazing organizations year-round, and usually, our support takes the form of volunteer hours. However, we decided that once a year, we'd like to host a drive for necessary items for each of these organizations. This year's Service Learning Drive will run from December 2 - 13 in support of the various organizations that each of our grade levels partner with throughout the year. We are looking for:

  • New items to be donated in partnership with Hope Totes and St. Louise House.
  • Recycled items to be donated in partnership with Got Sneakers and Keep Austin Beautiful.
  • Food pantry items to be donated in partnership with the Starry Scouts Girl Scout Troop.

For a more comprehensive list of acceptable items, please take a look at the flyers posted below!

To make your donations even easier, feel free to check out our Amazon Wish List to purchase new items in support of Hope Totes and St. Louise House. You may choose to send these items directly to our campus, and team members will pick them up as they arrive throughout the drive.

Thank you for considering how your family may give back this holiday season. Our students are so dedicated to their Service Learning Work, and we are so proud to join in with them as a community for this important opportunity!

Middle School Engineering Expo - December 19

Mark your calendars for this year's Middle School Engineering Expo! On Thursday, December 19 from 8:00 - 10:30 AM, our Middle School students will be presenting on the engineering projects they'll be working on during the month of December. These projects are tied to our Science Curriculum, and allow the students to engage with the Engineering Design Process. Each grade will give a 15-minute "keynote" presentation, followed by a walk-around for students to present their individual projects. More details will be provided closer to the day of the event. Please reach out to Ms. Seekatz and Ms. Heaton if you have any questions!

Ask Your Student to Check the Lost and Found

Over the next two weeks, we will be sorting through the Lost and Found and returning any labeled items. We will also lay the items out on Fridays leading up to the break. On December 20, the GSA sweatshirts and sweaters in the lost and found will be washed and placed in the uniform closet. Also on December 20th, all other items in the lost and found will be donated. Please ask your child to check out the lost and found before that date!

Afterschool Sign Up: Create Your Popsicle Account

If you are interested in registering your student for an Afterschool program next year, please create an account with Popsicle, our new online registration tool. Class registration officially opens on December 11, so you will not see any classes to register for until that date. However, you can view the official list of classes that will be available here. Plus, creating an account now can make class registration much easier and less stressful!

Please view the links below to access registration instructions and your parent profile log-in. When creating your account, you will need to select 'Don't have an account? Sign up.' and then follow the registration instructions.

P.S. When adding your child's profile to your account, you will be required to add an approved pickup. If you do not have another approved pickup person, please add yourself again.
