Reminder: Cell Phone and Smartwatch Policy
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to remind families of our school's cell phone and smartwatch policy. We understand that as students grow older, they may receive new devices, but maintaining our policies is crucial as we enter the last month of school. Recent research once again affirms that collecting cell phones, especially in Middle School, is best for students academically, mentally, and socially. In May, it might be tempting to relax on such policies, but we need your continued support to finish the year strong!
If your daughter needs her cell phone or smartwatch for after-school activities, she must turn this device in to the front office upon arrival each morning. At GSA, students do not have access to these devices during the day, even in their backpacks.
Thank you for partnering with us in creating a safe and nurturing environment for the growth and learning of our girls. Together, let's make these last weeks of the school year a time of focused progress and positive memories! |
Coffee and Conversation- May 10 TOPIC: Looking to the Future! Friday, May 10th- 8:30-9:30am
Join us as we share our approach to "foresight thinking" in our curriculum as well as in our Strategic Planning process. While we are not yet ready to unveil the Strategic Plan (you will learn more about that timeline during this conversation!) we thought parents would be interested in hearing what we have learned about foresight thinking through this process and how it has impacted our work with students. Foresight thinking involves considering potential future scenarios, trends, and outcomes to make informed decisions in the present. It is a proactive approach that helps individuals and organizations navigate uncertainty and adapt to changing circumstances effectively. Foresight thinking is an invaluable skill that we are developing as an institution, and that we are working to develop in our students. We invite everyone to join us next Friday, May 10th to learn more about foresight thinking and for a Q&A with Ms. Yacono.
