Talent Show 2.0 For this year's talent show, we had SIXTY acts sign up! While we love that all our students want to use their vibrant voices and share their talents with us, we did have to ask students to choose ONE act this year instead of the customary two (group and solo) in order to fit our time length.

That said, we will be hosting a Talent Show 2.0 where students will have the opportunity to perform the acts they could not perform on April 19th. At lunch on Monday, April 22nd, students will perform these extra acts. Feel free to join us at 11:35am to watch all the overflow of talent!

If your child will be using music for this show, please send it to jworkman@thegirlsschool.org by Sunday evening!

Field Day Volunteers Needed Coach Sparks is busy planning our Olympics-themed Field Day for Monday, May 20th, and she needs some help! Sign up to help clock swimmers, equestrian riders, track athletes and more!

Topic: Academics in Middle School (for a LOWER SCHOOL parent audience)

As a Lower School Parent, Middle School at the GSA can sometimes seem like a big mystery. While you may see posts about our Middle School students on ClassDojo or Instagram, many of our Lower School parents are still very curious about what takes place upstairs. That said, we're inviting our Lower School parents to join us next Friday, April 26th for a Q&A about Middle School with Ms. Yacono and a panel of Middle School teachers. This is a great opportunity to meet our Middle School faculty and see what your daughter has to look forward to in the years to come.

Virtual Coffee and Conversation Next Week

Tuesday, April 23, 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Ms. Yacono is committed to providing another opportunity for our busy families to take advantage of her Open Door Policy. This is why she began offering a monthly evening Coffee & Conversation on Zoom from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.

These are come-and-go and very informal. If you want to jump on and share a story or ask a quick question, that's great! If you have a more in-depth question that's still relevant to the whole school, that's great, too! If you have questions pertaining to your particular student, we still encourage you to arrange a 1-1 meeting with Ms. Yacono another time.

Announcing our Self-Portrait Show Theme

It's that time of the year again for GSA's annual self-portrait show! This year, students studied magical realism and surrealism in the work of Frida Kahlo and other surrealist artists from Mexico in the 1940's and 50's. As many of these iconic artists portrayed themselves as animals, students were asked to incorporate a special animal in their own portrait project. Join us on May 4 and 5 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM for "Magical Me," GSA's annual self-portrait show filled with endearing, whimsical, and magical portraits created by Kinder - 8th Grade.
