Girls Rock Austin!

This summer, the program Girls Rock Austin will be hosting a program on the GSA campus! Girls Rock Austin is dedicated to empowering women, girls, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals through music education, mentorship, and self-care.

Rock Camp consists of five days filled with intensive instrument instruction, band practice, and a wide range of workshops.

The camp is for ages 8-17 and will run Monday, June 24th through Saturday, June 29th.

This camp is run entirely by Girls Rock Austin and their crew, but we wanted to help them get the word out in case some of our families would be interested!

Amplify ATX Was a Huge Success!

Many of you have likely heard of Amplify Austin Day and you may have seen the signs along Windsor Rd. this week. Amplify Austin Day is the biggest giving event in Central Texas. For 24 hours, residents across our seven-county region are invited to participate by giving back to the local nonprofits that do so much good for our community!

What you may not know is that two years ago, GSA joined in this local movement. We use Amplify ATX specifically as an opportunity to reach out to our alumnae and their families, as well as other members of the general Austin community who know and the love our school.

But we saw that even some of YOU, our amazing GSA parent community, gave as part of this big day. THANK YOU!

We are excited to announce that this year, our Amplify ATX campaign met great success for the school! We were able to raise $1,520 for our beloved GSA, which was a new Amplify record for us! This school has touched the lives of so many over the last 21 years, and we are grateful and humbled that so many people love the Girls' School of Austin as much as we do!

Plans for the Total Eclipse- April 8

We are very excited for this once-in-a-lifetime event coming up in one month! Our teachers and student cabinet have been working hard to put together plans for an epic total eclipse viewing party. However, we want you to know that we are aware of the news and regional recommendations coming out about that day. We will be consulting with the city and other area schools to make plans for that day, and we will update you along the way.

Parent Volunteer Breakfast- April 15

At the GSA, our parents are what make it all possible! Every year over 100 parents chaperone field trips, participate in committees, set up and clean up events, come as guest speakers and readers, plan service learning projects, beautify our campus, fill the treat tower, organize our uniform closet, and SO MUCH MORE! We could not do what we do with out you, and we are so grateful.

Our faculty and staff would like to show their appreciation for you with a potluck breakfast! Our teachers and admin council will bring all the food, juice, and coffee, and we invite you to come enjoy a small token of our appreciation. This Volunteer Appreciation breakfast will be Monday, April 15th from 8:00-9:00am in the MUB. This is a come and go event, so even if you can just run in for a pastry and coffee before work, please do! If you have helped out in any capacity this year (which is all of you!), please join us.
