Middle School Parent Workshop- April 11th, 6:30-8:00pm
We all have worries and anxiety as a normal part of life. But these have been heightened through the last two years of “pandemic life”, which has introduced additional concerns like extreme loneliness and screen fatigue. In this session, parents will learn some tools and strategies that will help kids identify, regulate and manage fears and anxiety. Presenter Wanda Montemayor and her colleagues have a private practice working with kids, teens and adults. Previously, she worked in public schools for 24 years, including counseling at a middle school here in Austin.

Lower School Parent Workshop- April 19th, 6:30-8:00pm
In the past few years, it seems that the world is spiraling out of control and getting worse daily. We have experienced a global pandemic, a contentious election, heated political polarization, racial unrest, a Russian invasion of Ukraine, economic stress, and a severe disruption of our schools, just to name a few recent societal challenges. In such stressful and divided times, how can we develop and maintain a greater sense of peace and equanimity?

Psychologist Dr. Mike Brooks draw upon resources that include the latest scientific research, wisdom traditions, decades of clinical experience, and even pop culture to help attendees find a greater sense of peace and joy in this chaotic world. He is the author of the book Tech Generation: Raising Balanced Kids in a Hyper-Connected World.
